This photo was of a birthday party for Heman Judd (#4) and has all of his children (5 sons) and his 2 brothers.
Heman was born May 26, 1836.  [His grandfather was also Heman Judd, b 1771]

The picture was taken in 1903 or 1904.
- Since Minerva (#2) died May 24, 1904, and Mark Judd (#28) died in Oct. 1903, maybe the picture was taken in May 1903.
- However, [as pointed out by Bill Rogers] Barbara (Willard) Judd was supposedly pregnant with Alva who was born in Sept. 1904, which would mean it was May 1904.  Since Heman's birthday was May 26, and Minerva died May 24, the picture was probably taken on Sunday, May 22, 1904.

Three people on the left (#11, 12 & 13) are still not identified, though #11 may be a son of Obe Judd (#23). If you can identify any of these people please email me!


A copy of this picture with identifications originally came from Mable Judd, daughter of William Heman Judd (Bill Jr) #27. Mable said that she remembered that her mother (#17) told her that the baby she was holding was Moses Judd and that the little girl in front (#3) was her daughter, Beulah. Mable believes that the little boy (#1) was her brother, Harry.  She also identified #6, 7 & 8 as her brothers, Clarence, Robert & John Arthur.
Heman's 2 brothers, Mark & Obe were also in the picture.
#15 Bets Jolliff Judd and #24 Rutha Jolliff Judd were sisters.

Another source thinks that Pliny is not #20, but is #13 instead (which would place her in front of her father).  If this is right, then #11 is her husband Dugan Heard and #12 is their daughter, Vernie Ethel.
